One family buried a slain son over his grandfather. Another bundled up the tiny bodies of three young cousins and lowered them into the grave of a long-dead aunt. A man was laid to rest with his brother.

all this waste and they still let hamas shoot rockets daily. are there any peace lovers in the palestinian or arab world?
All this Nazi savagery from the Israelis for 60 years. Are there any people with brains and eyes in the United States?
- 8 votes
No. Not in the politics of either. And politicians could give a rat's ass about civilians. The politicans of both these people keep this stirred. Israel's political leadership has been hijacked by an extremist radical minority. Zionists. That's the way it's been for 60+ years The Palastineans are in the same boat because of Hamas. Civilians are caught between them and they're the ones who suffer. 1.4 million people the vast majority who don't have electrcity or clean water. It's a frigging joke. War criminals. They should all of them on both sides be tried at the Hague for war crimes starting with the so-called 'leaders'.

all this waste and they still let hamas shoot rockets daily.
are you really blind? These civilians have nothing to do with Hamas. Israel is MURDERING without caring. Even a lot of Israelis in Israel are protesting this. What is this blood thirst to kill someone that doesn't believe like you or look like you or doesn't have the same skin tone or ethnicity? Didn't humanity suffer enough from the ugliness of genocide in Darfur, Former Yugoslavia, etc etc. just in recent years? How can anyone who calls himself'/herself human yet justifies this. This is SICKNESS.

wow roxy, first off they voted hamas in knowing what the consequences would be, now they are in the middle of a battlefield and you would just sit there and take it? if it meant the lives of my family i'd light a flare on the building they were hiding in or take them out myself and save the israelis the trouble. israel is getting rid of a threat to its borders and i am sure would gladly meet them in the field. it is not there fault hamas doesn't follow the geneva convention, would rather fight where the civilians are and will not lay down arms. yes, very sad for civilians who can't get out, even sadder there brethren in arab egypt won't allow them in.

Too many children being slaughtered. It has to stop.
It will when they stop electing terrorist and people who are hell bent on shooting rockets into Isreal and want nothing more than the complete destruction of the jewish state. Its sad so many civilians are dying... but if they really want peace and no bloodshed they need to step up and stop harboring / helping HAMAS. HAMAS really isn't concerned with there well being which is obvious.

RoxyFL first of all, the Palestinians do have something to do with this. They elected Hamas in the first place.
Second, you say Israel is murdering without caring? They drop leaflefts in Arabic telling civilians to leave so and so place because terrorists are there and it will be bombed. but they stay anyway because it is the perfect death for them, dieing defending terrorists, and furthermore, their dieing helps the terrorists even more because the Liberal Media screams in protest.
Third, why is the world screaming at Israel? Why doesnt Eygpt open their borders to let them in? Did you know that Israeli hospitals are full with injured palestineans from gaza that Israel let through their border to get medical treatment?
WHY ISNT THE WORLD SCREAMING AT EYGPT? Why doesnt Eygpt want to help their Arab brothers out in this dire time? Simple, because no one wants the Palestinians, they create chaos and wreak havoc wherever they go.

no9racing,
what do you think why the palestine people voted for Hamas?
(without any reason?, just they are thirsty for blood? as you think all of arab people like that? )
haha.
I will show a link.
why they voted for Hamas, and why did the young boy became a suicide bomber.
this report was written by two UN officials, not by any Arab people.
And I am an Asian~
When we see this problem, we think that the God must be a fool who chose Israel peopl as his chosen people.
Don't you agree?
haha
I can't link here. Thus, I just copy now.
Looking to the Side, From Belsen to Gaza
A genocide is engulfing the people of Gaza while a silence engulfs its bystanders. "Some 1.4 million people, mostly children, are piled up in one of the most densely populated regions of the world, with no freedom of movement, no place to run and no space to hide," wrote the senior UN relief official, Jan Egeland, and Jan Eliasson, then Swedish foreign minister, in Le Figaro. They described people "living in a cage," cut off by land, sea and air, with no reliable power and little water and tortured by hunger and disease and incessant attacks by Israeli troops and planes.
Egeland and Eliasson wrote this four months ago as an attempt to break the silence in Europe whose obedient alliance with the United States and Israel has sought to reverse the democratic result that brought Hamas to power in last year’s Palestinian elections. The horror in Gaza has since been compounded; a family of 18 has died beneath a 500-pound American/Israeli bomb; unarmed women have been mown down at point-blank range. Dr. David Halpin, one of the few Britons to break what he calls "this medieval siege", reported the killing of 57 children by artillery, rockets and small arms and was shown evidence that civilians are Israel’s true targets, as in Lebanon last summer. A friend in Gaza, Dr. Mona El-Farra, e-mailed: "I see the effects of the relentless sonic booms [a collective punishment by the Israeli air force] and artillery on my 13-year-old daughter. At night, she shivers with fear. Then both of us end up crouching on the floor. I try to make her feel safe, but when the bombs sound I flinch and scream..."
When I was last in Gaza, Dr. Khalid Dahlan, a psychiatrist, showed me the results of a remarkable . "The statistic I personally find unbearable," he said, "is that 99.4 per cent of the children we studied suffer trauma. Once you look at the rates of exposure to trauma you see why: 99.2 per cent of their homes were bombarded; 97.5 per cent were exposed to tear gas; 96.6 per cent witnessed shootings; 95.8 per cent witnessed bombardment and funerals; almost a quarter saw family members injured or killed." Dr. Dahlan invited me to sit in on one of his clinics. There were 30 children, all of them traumatized. He gave each pencil and paper and asked them to draw. They drew pictures of grotesque acts of terror and of women streaming tears.
The excuse for the latest Israeli terror was the capture last June of an Israeli soldier, a member of an illegal occupation, by the Palestinian resistance. This was news. The kidnapping a few days earlier by Israel of two Palestinians -- two of thousands taken over the years -- was not news. An historian and two foreign journalists have reported the truth about Gaza. All three are Israelis. They are frequently called traitors. The historian Ilan Pappe has documented that "the genocidal policy [in Gaza] is not formulated in a vacuum” but part of Zionism’s deliberate, historic ethnic cleansing. Gideon Levy and Amira Hass are reporters on the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz. In November, Levy described how the people of Gaza were beginning to starve to death . . . "there are thousands of wounded, disabled and shell-shocked people unable to receive any treatment . . . the shadows of human beings roam the ruin... they only know the [Israeli army] will return and what this will mean for them: more imprisonment in their homes for weeks, more death and destruction in monstrous proportions."
Amira Hass, who has lived in Gaza, describes it as a prison that shames her people. She recalls how her mother, Hannah, was being marched from a cattle-train to the Nazi concentration camp at Bergen-Belsen on a summer’s day in 1944. "[She] saw these German women looking at the prisoners, just looking," she wrote. "This image became very formative in my upbringing, this despicable 'looking from the side'."
"Looking from the side" is what those of us do who are cowed into silence by the threat of being called anti-Semitic. Looking from the side is what too many western Jews do, while those Jews who honor the humane traditions of Judaism and say, "Not in our name!" are abused as "self-despising". Looking from the side is what almost the entire US Congress does, in thrall to or intimidated by a vicious Zionist "lobby". Looking from the side is what "even-handed" journalists do as they excuse the lawlessness that is the source of Israeli atrocities and suppress the historic shifts in the Palestinian resistance, such as the implicit recognition of Israel by Hamas. The people of Gaza cry out for better.

And the result must be the same as USA's.
Hamas cannot survive without the support of the Palestinians in Gaza. When they get tired of seeing all the dead bodies perhaps they'll acknowledge the right of Israel to exist and agree to a peace that involves two states co-existing side by side. Until them, keep the bombs falling on Gaza.

israel can not survive without the false threat of hamas. as long as hamas is considered a real threat to israel, israel can continue to steal billions of our tax money and continue an illegal occupation of palestine. the only real threat to israels survival is a just peace. israel will continue to kill innocent civilians in their unjust holocaust of local palestinians. when will these zionist realize that a 'pure' jewish state made of FOREIGN settlers will never be acceptable with the LOCAL palestinians who will continue to resist an unjust and illegal occupation???

wow loius, look at a little history will ya, go to the books and look up what the league of nations empowered briton to do in 1922, this is where it started and actually worked until 48' when the arabs attacked with 6 armies the moment israel announced sovernty. all of these people have lived in this area for centuries, is it too much to ask the arabs to allow that to continue?

I agree that Israel should put more effort into preventing the innocent from being harmed. But Palestinians should know that giving power to violent leaders with ridiculous violent agendas to blow Israel away would lead to this. What did they expect? Israel to just put up with their rockets flying into their country forever?
Can we really trust these people to be honest about how many innocents have died at the hands of Israel during this invasion? I don't blindly believe everything I hear. Especially from a group of people who are willing to strap bombs to themselves to kill a busload of Israeli school children.
Can someone please justify why exactly anyone in this country, The United States, would be against the Jews having their own country??? Maybe I'm the one who needs a history lesson. Please tell me the events, throughout history in detail, that explain just why the Palestinians should have all that land to themselves and kick out Israel? Or is this just blind hatred going on here? I saw pictures of the kind of signs people were holding at a march against Israel in San Francisco. I'm disgusted and ashamed.
Are these actually Americans?
kill a busload of children??? israel is the one that wants all the land. they continue an unjust occupation and refuse any just peace. they force a blockade on gaza and try to starve millions. it is only natural for the palestinians to resist. palestinians are LOCAL christians, muslims, and jews trying to survive an unjust occupation by FOREIGN settlers. the only disgust and shame is towards the zionist who kill innocent civilians in their dream to create zion.
while israel targets INNOCENT LOCAL PALESTINIANS, hamas targets ILLEGAL EUROPEAN SETTLERS who steal palestinian land and live in illegal settlements behind an illegal wall which is all funded by american taxpayers. hamas has a GOD given right to resist with all means necessary. gaza has been turned into the worlds largest outdoor prison. israel seals the borders and controls everything from food, water, electricity... gaza is a concentration camp that makes auschwitz look like candy land. gazans are starving by the millions and the world watches! hamas must defend its people. that is why they were elected, and israel will continue to ignorantly claim it is at war... how can you declare war against a defenseless people? how long before they learn that it is impossible to kill or defeat a resistance movement? as long as the occupation continues, the resistance will only grow. too bad israel is lost in its zionistic vision of a 'pure' jewish state, a vision that only rivals nazi germanys 'pure' arian state, and will lead to the same end result

Maybe these citizens who voted can contact their elected Hamas rep and request one of the rocket smuggling tunnels to bury their dead in return for the use of themselves as human shields. These deaths are a huge disgrace because it would have been better to use UN diplomats for shields instead! Rock on Isreal, win the war they started more than 60 years ago. Do not stop until they have no more terrorists or rockets left, whichever comes first.
Hamas' tactics is working. They put their munition in civilian's houses and wait for the pictures to emerge. Well, they did, and they are ugly and of course Israel is blamed. There is no wining against this murderous culture. Nore in the mid east, not in Iraq and not in Aphganistan. People that murder their own sisters are playing in a totaly different game with a totaly different set of rules. But they have oil so the world will continue to tolerate them.

i don't believe we americans can even begin to imagine how either side lives on a daily basis. or the anger, frustration, and hatred felt for each other. how could we? I don't believe our news media understands and definetly not our very spoiled politicians, so how can anyone tell them what to do and how to do it?
we all watch while innocent palestinians die. israel will continue to claim that hamas is a real threat to its security... when indeed hamas will never pose any serious threat to israel. but, as long as israel has a false threat, they can continue to steal billions of dollars of our tax money and continue an unjust and illegal occupation of palestine. all this so that they can create zion, the 'pure' jewish state that reflects hitlers dream of a 'pure' arian nation. kill all the local palestinians in order to allow foreign settlers to occupy the land. and we, the u.s. taxpayers, pay the bill. why??? hamas does not force us to pay for their war... why do we have to fund israels unjust war?
- 4 votes
maybe they can use the 3hr truces to bury the bodies in the smuggling tunnels. sure save a lot of shoveling!
Israel has successfully portrayed itself as the victim with the duty to defend its people, but the reality is that everyone has the right to defend its people and to live in security. These are not luxuries to be enjoyed by Israelis alone in the Middle East.
The Israelis insist that the latest violence began when Hamas “ended” a six-month truce. Was there a truce? During this six-month truce, the International Middle East Media Centre (a collaboration of international and Palestinian journalists) reported that the Israeli army killed 23 Palestinians, wounded 62, and kidnapped 38 residents in the Gaza StripTruce? What truce?
In terms of the daily life of Palestinians in Gaza, Israel has been blocking medical supplies, food and fuel on regular basis for the past two years. Prior to the latest attacks, many had died from treatable diseases due to the blocking of medical supplies.
A Reuters article (December 30, 2008), citing research from Save the Children (UK), noted that 70 per cent of Palestinian children already had vitamin A deficiency and almost half of the children under two were anaemic due to the border blockade. Early last year, a Toronto Star article (February 11, 2008) featured Palestinians from Gaza who were driving on cooking oil due to fuel shipments being blocked.
What would Israel’s response be if the situation were in reverse?
Sadly, our media have not covered these tactics. Instead, they have generally chosen to publicise the Israeli spin of victimhood.
Israel. Always the victim.
Even with the Israeli army’s revelation in a January 4, 2009, Haaretz article that it overestimated Gaza’s rocket severity, Israel won’t give up its victimhood card. The bombing continues, as does the self-righteousness that comes with it.
Perhaps Israeli historian Ilan Pappe put it best in his recent article, “Israel’s righteous fury and its victims in Gaza.” He wrote: “The self-righteousness is a powerful act of self-denial and justification. It explains why the Israeli Jewish society would not be moved by words of wisdom, logical persuasion or diplomatic dialogue.”
Israel. Always the victim.
Though we live in the 21st century, it seems that maybe the Western world (specifically the US) has been caught in a time warp. There are those who actually think that they can atone for the World War II crimes by giving Israel the green light to commit more crimes against humanity. But ignoring Israel’s food, medicine and fuel embargo, and the killing of Palestinians actually dishonours the memories of those who were murdered during World War II.
Just because there are no ovens or gassings in the current conflict does not mean that it is less of a genocide or holocaust. And when Israel intentionally blocks humanitarian goods and aims to make life so miserable that Palestinians will want to leave, all the while dehumanising them, Israel is committing genocide.
Article II of the 1948 Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Genocide does not make exceptions for motive.
In other words, using Hamas as an excuse is unacceptable. The convention discusses “deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to destroy a group includes the deliberate deprivation of resources needed for the group’s physical survival, such as clean water, food, clothing, shelter or medical services. Deprivation of the means to sustain life can be imposed through confiscation of harvests, blockade of foodstuffs, detention in camps, forcible relocation or expulsion into deserts”.
It is what it is, and whitewashing it doesn’t change the reality, regardless of the Israeli spin.
In recent days, the interactive forums on the Internet have been filled with pro-Israel posts referring to Palestinians as vermin who should be exterminated. These Hitleresque statements, of course, are said within the context of self-righteousness and victimhood.
At some point, I have to believe that even those who have abused this card will tire of it. Someday.
For now, the words of respected journalist and media reform advocate, Bill Moyers, come to mind: “Democracy without honest information creates the illusion of popular consent at the same time that it enhances the power of the state and the privileged interests that the state protects.”
We need to think about that as our corporate media become more of mouthpieces for the government and less interested in hard reporting and truth telling.
Israel, ALWAYS the victim? Not even close

how many times are you gonna post this tony, without acknowledging the fact that egypt has done exactly the same as israel with its border? also if hamas fought according to the geneva convention just how many civilian casualties would there be?

first they vote for hamas, then they cant even remember where the smuggling tunnels are to bury there dead? how stupid are these people?
just as stupid as the zionist that want to create a 'pure' jewish state... when will israel realize that a FOREIGN occupation will never be accepted by the LOCAL palestinian population. hitler had a hard time trying to bury all the dead jews during the holocaust... now israel has the same problem... where do we bury all these innocent civilians we have killed in our illegal attempt to create zion???
- 4 votes
there is nothing right or legal about defending occupation. certainly nothing right or legal about defending illegal settlers living in illegal settlements behind an illegal wall on occupied land. this is what israel wants to call self defense.
hamas is not an army, navy, air force, marine... it is no military. hamas is a resistance movement made by the LOCAL palestinians to defend and support the LOCAL palestinians against the FOREIGN israeli oppressors. hamas has an undeniable right to defend itself and support itself by any means necessary. everybody understands this except for israel.
if israel is defending itself, why do they not allow any journalist into gaza? what do they have to hide? the fact that they have turned gaza into the biggest concentration camp in history... millions of palestinians are starving and dying due to israels illegal policies toward the palestinians. adolph hitler could have only dreamed of such a concentration camp... auschwitz is no where close to what gaza has become. i guess israel was taught by the best. hitler would be proud!

- 4 votes
The start of the Palestinian plight began with the Sykes-Pecot Agreement.... it was the first agreement that showed the Palestinian's that they were going to get screwed. I found many things within the League of Nations proving this.... and then it goes into The United Nations.
Until 1916, the Palestinian People and other Arab nationals lived in peace, side by side the small Jewish population. It was a Zionist Political Movement that was working the scenes behind the curtains from the very start to take Palestine and create the state of Israel.
Hamas is not a terrorist group; they are indeed resistance fighters who would prefer peace but will not accept being under the control of the Israeli's. There is no reason for Israel to occupy the Palestinian People or their lands.... they control the air, the seas and they land areas surrounding the Palestinian Territories. The Palestinians must ask Israel for permission to build homes, to build schools. They have only the dirty water from the sewers of Israel. The Israeli's have cut down thousands of olive trees.... it takes years to get them to the fruit stage and before, the Palestinians sold much from the olive groves of their ancestors; soaps, oils, olives. It was a part of their everyday living!
It is a criminal act the Israel's are now conducting on the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian People, plain and simple. It is my hope that although Hamas has no chance of winning, that they remain defiant and strong to the end. Israel has failed in their so-called efforts to destroy Hamas.... Hamas may have become 1 million strong!

Most of what you said I agree with. People also need to know that Hamas was started by the Mossad and the CIA to offset the power of the PLO.
I am a white male conservative of western European descent. I am not Jewish or Muslim. One might think I don't have a dog in this fight, but I do. I'm American and am appalled at what my country has done to promote this atrocity.
Three years ago I probably would have sided with Israel. I decided to become educated. Pro Israel people stick to a history that has been taught prior to the truth coming out. The funny thing is that the truth of the beginning Israel was exposed by Israeli historians. They stole the land plain and simple. They still have yet to comply with the UN's conditional acceptance as a state. The condition was the right of return and reparations.
I'm not a fan of the UN but the rules are the rules. It seems kind of funny that when Iraq supposedly violated UN resolutions they get invaded and regime change occurs, but when Israel violates UN resolutions, to the tune of 60+, we just keep giving them more money.
Unfortunately, we are fighting a difficult battle. The American media is the most controlled propaganda in the world. At least the communist country's citizens knew they were being lied to.
I wouldn't doubt that most of the pro Israeli responses on this site are coming from Tel Aviv. They have agencies dedicated to controlling the spin on all their atrocities. I am 100% positive that if most, non Jewish, Americans comprehended the truth there would be an upheaval like no other. I believe most Americans are good. We've just been told to root for Satan.
no9racing, go back to reading your Talmud. It's only a matter of time before the truth comes out.

Drug dealers, of course, skull and bones, book and snake, oss, bohemian grove people. Who profits from Isreal selling over five billion dollars worth of weapons? More drug dealers, Mossad, Bin Ladin family watching 911 unfold from the Ritz Carlton, Abrahamoffs hotel, girls, boys, men, women, partying with booze and drugs, bribing senators and congressmen, and congressgirls, is it any wonder our country is in the toilet.

israel steals billions of dollars from our taxpaying money each year because of a false threat they shove down our throats. hamas is no threat to israel and will never be a serious threat to their security. it is just an excuse israel uses to continue stealing our money and to continue an unjust occupation against the palestinians. for over 60 years they have been determined to reac havoc on the local palestinian population and recreate the same environment of nazi germany. i guess they want to create the superior 'jewish' state at the expense of the local palestinian population. just like the nazis taught them. hail israel!

israel is populated by SETTLERS. settlers from europe, russia, and america just to name a few. the majority of the jews living on occupied palestinian land are foreign, and have settled and living in israel at the expense of american taxpayers. these settlers, like you, believe palestine never existed and that they have GODLY rights to the land? whatever that means. thus, they can not explain why palestinian locals who now live in refugee camps, thanks to jewish settlers, refuse to live in their refugee camps in PEACE! the true terrorist are the settlers who use american taxpayers to live on occupied land. they are the problem.
the only threat in the region is israel. palestinian resistance is not only normal, but it is their right to resist an occupier. terrorism is occupation, invasion, assasination... all done by the israeli army. state sponsored terrorism against the local palestinians. thus, hamas, fatah, and any other group defending the rights of palestinians are acceptable resistance movements. the entire world other than the u.s., israel, and britain accept this logic. so please do not be swayed by the illogical argument that palestine never existed. that garbage is as pathetic as denying the holocaust. accept the truth, for the truth will set you free!

Since your not counting maybe i should give you real numbers since you claim most of them were Hamas. The following was an article from the associated press.....
"Israel launched the onslaught in Gaza on Dec. 27, seeking to punish the ruling Hamas militant group for years of rocket attacks on southern Israel. The offensive has killed 1,000 Palestinians, about half of them civilians, including 300 children, Gaza health ministry official Dr. Moaiya Hassanain said. The toll included 11 Palestinians killed Wednesday, medical officials said."

BIG TEXAS - The Israelis are genocidal scumbags? Now lets say Mexico was lobbing rockets at you every day???? Would you NOT do something about it? You have NO CLUE!!!!
I wonder if the elections that were held, that put Hamas in power were held again TODAY, would the Palestinians, put then back in to power?
As for the Phamplets, they asked these people to report locations of the Hamas, asked them to stay away from them, lets see what kind of support they get?
MIKE - WAR crimes, Oh yes......just like the 100's of rockets shot from Gaza the last year.....
They finally went and pissed off Israel, now they will pay the price!
YOU GO ISRAEL, GIVE THEM WHAT THEY UNDERSTAND, DEATH AND CARNAGE.
FINISH IT THIS TIME AND LET THE RECONCILIATION BEGIN - ONCE AND FOR ALL!
